Relative Humidity:
The field of relative humidity shows a maximum within the frontal zone, slightly inclined forward, which corresponds to
the ideal distribution. In the vicinity of the Jet Fibre there is no secondary humidity maximum, because the ECMWF model
is not able to resolve such small-scale structures. On the top of the Warm Front in the region of jet streak (upper
right corner of the cross-section), there is a humidity minimum caused by procurement of dry air on the cyclonic side of
the jet.
Vertical Motion (Omega):
Vertical motion is connected mainly to frontal activity. There is rising motion along the slope of the frontal zone.
Isotachs:
The maximum wind is found at 250 hPa, at the leading edge, and above the frontal surface, near to the maximum radiance seen in WV and IR imagery associated with the Jet Fibre. The fibre is, in this case, located directly in the region of the wind maximum.
