Height Contours 1000 hPa:
There is a well developed surface low close to the centre of the Warm Conveyor Belt Occlusion spiral. This is typical for this conceptual model.
Height contours 500 hPa:
There is a pronounced Upper Level Low to the rear of the Occlusion cloud spiral. This stage of development of such a low would fits the ideal configuration. But in this case the Upper Level Low is too far behind the cloud spiral. This deviates from the expected configuration in an ideal case. A possible explanation could be that the development stage is rather early so that the upper levels are not yet influenced. The deep low might have a different history.
Isotachs 300 hPa:
There are two large scale jet streaks: one to the South of the Occlusion spiral, at the rear of the Cold Front cloud band, and one in the NE of the spiral. However, the most interesting jet streak is the very small scale one along the spiral. It indicates that the jet is going around the occlusion spiral, typical for the conceptual model of a Warm Conveyor Belt Occlusion.
Shear Vorticity 300 hPa:
The thick line represents the jet axis. As can also be seen in the configurations of the jet streaks, the jet axis goes around the Occlusion spiral which is typical for the conceptual model of a WCB Occlusion.
PVA 500 hPa:
There are very high values of PVA at 500 hPa in the area of the occlusion spiral which conforms to this conceptual model. However, the fact which was mentioned concerning the position of the upper level low behind the cloud spiral is also reflected in this parameter field. There is a secondary PVA maximum just behind the Occlusion cloud spiral. Also, this parameter might indicate early development.
PVA 300 hPa:
Principally this field shows the same features as the PVA field at 500, namely a well developed maximum close to the cloud spiral and a secondary behind. The first maximum is in accordance with the ideal configuration in a WCB Occlusion.
TFP:
The TFP shows already a distinct bulge in the area of the WCB Occlusion spiral. This supports the fact mentioned already with some upper level parameters that the system is in development.
However, this configuration is in accordance with such a conceptual model.
Equivalent Thickness:
There is a distinct ridge in this parameter field which is very typical for the conceptual model of a WCB Occlusion.
