Temperature Advection:
You find most of the wam advection in the upper levels in the cloud head, there is cold advection in the middle levels
in the whole area of the dry intrusion.
Divergence:
The divergence in the higher level in the cloud head and the low level convergence in the whole area is quite clear in
this case.
PVA:
This is a good example. As expected there is a lot of PVA in the upper levels in the area of the cloud head and NVA in
the higher levels at the rear edge of the Cold Front.
Vertical Motion (Omega):
Very strong upward motion in the lower levels in the area of the dry zone. In the cloud head upward motion in the higher
levels.
Isotachs:
The two maxima, one (weaker max) on the cold side of the cloud head and the strongest near the Cold Front. Note the high
wind speeds at lower level near the edge of the Cold Front and the dry intrusion.
Potential Vorticity:
The broad anomaly of potential vorticity is very prominent here and fits nicely in the dry area of the dry intrusion.
